Fratelli Casati’s laboratory is equipped with modern precision instruments and a team of professional technicians who are dedicated to researching and developing new flock products. Flock samples are taken on a routine basis in diverse colour hues and various combinations of cut and/or ground fibres of varying lengths and thicknesses. Solidity testing for quality standard validation is performed on a daily basis in order to ensure the highest quality of our flock under this aspect.

Each single batch of flock is put to special tests to identify its workability parameters as established by the Flock Association of Europe.
TEXTOMETER
This test measures the flock’s electrostatic charge which is the flock’s capacity to conduct the electricity generated by a flocking plant to perpendicularly lay on the surface to be flocked
RISE TIME
This test checks the finishing suitability on flock, so that it can perfectly work in the electrostatic field of a flocking plant.
WETTABILITY
This test measures the flock’s permeability. It simulates the time it takes for the flock to penetrate into the adhesive applied onto the surface to be flocked.
SIFTABILITY
This test checks the flock’s suppleness and its workability in the flocking plant.
