THE FLOCKING PROCESS

THE PHASES OF THE FLOCKING PROCESS

Flat or three-dimensional objects of almost any kind of material (wood, plastic, metal, paper, glass, fabric or others) are coated with adhesive. The millions of fibres which make flock are then charged in an electrical field and vertically shot into the coated surface.
The adhesive is dried to completely fix the flock to the object.
Finally, the flocked object is brushed to remove any excess flock from the surface.

INTERESTING FACTS

In some cases for certain processes and applications, Flock can be used without an electrostatic system and thus without using the Flocking process.

Flock can also be mixed with different materials and/or components to give it structure, consistency and colour or to improve its physical characteristics giving the object new functionality that goes beyond the aesthetic realm.
