THE FLOCK

FLOCK is the basic element needed for flocking.
The flocking procedure consists in the application of various kinds of textile fibres with a different diameter and length on a surface, previously coated with special adhesives, to make it looks like leather, cloth or velvet.
The final look depends on the physical/chemical properties of the fibres used. The textile fibres usually used for this kind of application are called FLOCK

They are classified according to their own Dtex.

Flock powder
The Dtex is the unit of measure of fibres. It indicates the mass in grams per 10,000 meter long fibre.
When the Dtex is low, the fibre has a small diameter. When it is high, the fibre has a larger diameter.
