FLOCK is a powder of fibres of various kinds. It is soft, lightweight and odourless.
It is generally coloured, since it is dyed during the production process.
It is used for decorative purposes. Nevertheless, thanks to the natural features of the fibre used to produce it, flock is also used for products from specific technical sectors.
First of all, we should distinguish between cut flock and ground flock.

Cut flock
Fibres' length is constant and precise and it can range from 0.3 mm to 10.0 mm.
Cut flock derives from tow (a sheaf of continous and parallel fibres).
Ground flock
Fibres' length is irregular. Depending on the grinding grid, it is possible to get short blends (0.2 - 0.4 mm), medium blends (0.5 - 0.8 mm) and long blends (over 0.9 mm).
It derives from crop ends of discontinuous threads and therefore it is suitable just to grinding but not to cutting.
